Learning to Program

By Ole Jensen

Learning to program is not an easy thing when you do not have a tutor, so if you want to get started in programming you will need some heavy resources. The author of this page have looked for these and found plenty, so you might ask why this page? Well the problem with most of all the resources and tutorials available on the internet is that most (if not all) have been written by people who know how to program, and even though they mean well they might jump a bit too far, too fast sometimes. That is mainly the reason for this page - to let people begin programming small steps at a time, and since the author do not know any programming what so ever, it is going to be difficult for the author to skip to fast over subjects.
As might have been stated, some research has been made, but not sufficient for calling the author capable of programming
(even though "Hello World!" is a working program!). When the site is fully developed the author should be fluent in at least one programming language. The goal is that others with an interest will be able to follow these pioneering footsteps into the world of programming!
If you have not already been there you should go take a look at Python.org's beginners tutorials, which are written by people who know what they are talking about. Also the Python mailing list is a very nice community to learn python as people there are very friendly and again knows what they are talking about.
Also (a little disclaimer) because of this lack of knowledge some technical jargon will probably be used wrongly, and programs made will be made over-complicated (or plainly wrong). Feel free to comment/correct at learning.python@dbmail.dk
